Dispatch Scholar Athletes
For the summers of 2020 and 2021, I had the opportunity to photograph nine of the top 2020 Dispatch Scholar Athletes and seven of the top 2021 Dispatch Scholar Athletes in the greater Columbus area. All awarded recipients were featured in a special section in print version of The Columbus Dispatch.
Below are my favorite portraits of each student athlete I was able to work with. Each student was able to select what location, uniform, and best represented their high school career the most. In each portrait session, I utilized a mix of natural light and studio lights, using a small umbrella, two remote flashes, and a light reflector.
I’m proud of the work I was able to create and the conversations I was able to have with these students while celebrating their accomplishments on and off the field.
