ABOUT

Hello, my name is Maddie Schroeder (she/her) and I am a creative in the Greater Boston, Massachusetts area, focusing on sports photography, marketing photography, and social media content creation.

I am currently with Bentley University full-time as the Staff Photographer. I work as the Assistant Director of Multimedia Production in the Marketing Communications department.

I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. I graduated in May 2019 from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio with a Bachelor’s degree in Visual Communication. Before moving to Boston in February of 2023, My main contract client was a private preparatory school as their photographer for all high school sports events. I also contributed to several local publications.

Prior to Bentley, I worked with Runion Dental Group in Columbus, Ohio as their as the photographer/content creator for their marketing staff.

In 2021, I served as a photographer and content creator for Beachwood Creative, a boutique creative agency working with large clients across the country. I create content for several clients at a time while also running their social media accounts, following trends, responding to messages, and interacting with similar brands online.

From August to December of 2019, I contributed to The Columbus Dispatch as a full-time photojournalism intern after working as a freelance photographer for The Dispatch since April. I loved working for my hometown newspaper with such a great photography staff. I still frequently take freelance assignments for the Dispatch.

During three of my years in Athens, I worked for Ohio University Athletics as a staff photographer. I collaborated with four other photographers to cover all home sporting events and take promotional team portraits. My success as a staff photographer took me as far as the 2017 Bahamas Bowl and the 2018 DXL Frisco Bowl as the only Ohio photographer covering the Ohio football team in these two bowl games. 

I had two great internships while in college: I was the content intern with UCF Athletics for the summer of 2018 where I created designs, photos, and videos to use on all UCF Knights accounts on every social media platform. I also served as a graphic design intern for University of Michigan in the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation while also working as a full-time student. I created visuals for social media, IHPI's website, event material, and other various projects.

In my free time, I love attending concerts, playing with my two cats and exploring local parks and coffee shops.

My strong passion for sports photography, storytelling and content creation have already opened up so many opportunities for me. I'm excited to see what more my future holds!
